I was just reading the reviews for the many clubs in Houston area and it seems to be that racism is rampart. Many guys are complaining that they are not being let in because of their race. I provide a link below to the most notable ones:

The Drake:
The Drake - Houston, TX, 77007 - Citysearch

Red Door:
The Red Door - Houston, TX, 77006-161 - Citysearch

Are these exceptions or is there really a segregation of races of where they go out? I'm from Boston and we probably have a smaller minority population than Houston but Ive never seen anything like this before.

Apparently you haven't seen the ethnic make-up of Houston. If they were "racist," (by which I assume you mean they discriminate against non-whites, though that's not specific in your post) then they would have a fairly empty dance floor in Houston.

P.S. I read the posts you put up, but if you read the other 100 or so reviews, the issue either doesn't come up or is, in fact, debunked by another club customer.

I don't go out a lot, but I know someone who is real into the club scene and he had relayed a story to me about the Drake and that very problem. I really don't think it is so much a "Houston thing" as something that might be a problem with a specific club or two.

Lol. This is Houston. If they are racist, it's against whites, since we're the minority and everything would be out of business otherwise.

Specific clubs, sure, but no more than other cities.

The Drake racist? What you need is a Blonde Wig, a nice club dress, and make yourself look like a White Chick with tons of LoReal Face Powder! - I heard blonde white chicks are in high demand!!

So Jesse69, did that work for you? I'm not being mean, I know that you go out in drag on occassion, just wondering if that is what you did here? Do the people, bouncers, patrons ever catch on?

i agree, there are quite a few club that are prejudice and the drake is one of them, it has been talked about for quite some time now, and there are countless testimonies at that regard. awww but i guess some people need a lynching to occur for them to finally admit to the obvious. oh and yup seen it happen!!!

In the 80's clubs were pretty much segregated. People didn't seem to want to go clubbing with different races. People wanted to go to clubs that played music that their own culture was listening to. But these days I thought all people were pretty much melting together as far as clubs went, so this is interesting news to me.......

I know many places have strict dress codes at clubs that don't allow for baggy clothing, which tend to be worn by minorities.
