You can find lots of cool, fun things to do in and around Houston. Lake Conroe area is a place where you can find a get-away thats close to town and convenient.

Want to get away from the land, try a romantic cruise on Clear Lake.

Want more ideas try Midtownlive.blogspot for details on fun things to do in and around Houston and my favorite thing to do
boat tours in Houston.

Go to the beach, Galveston! I'll bet the San Luis or the Galvez has an amazing spread for Thanksgiving, and then you can have the Texas experience of walking on the beach after you pig out.

You can get to new Orleans in 5 hours. Have a cajun Thanksgiving. They probably have a parade. They have a parade for everything!

Kiva Dunes at Gulf Shores, Alabama. Awesome at worst. Maybe about 8 hours, but so worth the drive.
