Hi

I am going to be working at baylor college of medicine (which is pretty much the same as the medical center correct?) So I don't want to drive in to work. Would love to be able to take a bus or train in daily. I checked the metro-rail map out but it's linear and seems pointless. I am looking for safe suburbs in which to rent (max 800$ a month) (preferrably a house/room rather than an apartment). What suburbs would have a bus commute time of approx <=15 mins.
I get freaked out by fast paced heavy traffic 'downtown' living
A nice quiet locale with lots of greenery and atleast 1 bike trail would be awesome. Single so schools are not an issue. Is this asking for too much?

Thanks for reading.

If you're commuting from the burbs using the bus you're looking at a lot more than 15 minutes. It takes me 15 minutes to get to the Med Center from just across 610.

Didn't METRO start a Park and Ride service from Pearland though? I'm pretty sure they did and they are using the Cinemark parking lot for now.

Oh, I missed that. I'd always heard Pearland was resisting that because they were afraid to bring crime into.....oh snap, I guess it doesn't matter anymore, does it?

Isn't Pearland in Brazoria county? and Park and Ride Metro is a Harris county thing. I don't believe that it is a Metro park and ride, maybe some private company? or a Brazoria county thing?

You may be right. I was under the impression, that METRO had opened on up.

You cant get a house for 800 a month in pearland anyway. I would try an apartment near the Dome and ride the rail. You can also walk or bike around Hermann Park. It is just as safe as Pearland and you wont have any freeway traffic at all.
