I love Houston the city and the people are friendly

Things I have come to learn about HTX:

1. Using turn signals are illegal
2. The speed limit is what ever is posted +10
3. Numbered streets are for wusses.
4. Houston, TX is a suburb of New Orleans.
5. 45, 59, and 610 aren't only freeways they are the tempatures in one day.

I got rear-ended on 59 N just outside of downtown (she didn't have insurance) on my third day in town

I got cussed out by a bum for not giving him money

I got a pad in sharpstown, not as bad as people on city-data made it out to be. I'm ready to get to the suburbs tho. I wanted to try the big city life and now i'm tired of it.

Houston drivers aren't perfect, but if you want to see bad drivers, visit the northeast. New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts... WORST DRIVERS EVER.

Just look at the car insurance premiums by state: http://www.insure.com/articles/inter...AvgResults.jsp

Look at all those northeast states in the top 15. I know part of it is due to having snow up to 6 months out of the year... but still.

Have you learned all the "second names" our freeways have yet? That's usually what gets people when they first move here...

Probably because a lot of NOLA residents were relocated into all the apts. in the 59/Sharpstown area would explain why you have met so many -- living in the Sharpstown area I would imagine there are a lot of NOLA residents.
