Hello city-data
My son is turning seventeen and he just came back from louisiana and he told me that they actually have day driving classes, where you begin at eight and leave at three. And it was only 35.00. I was wondering do anyone know where we can find this at? This will really be appreciated because i looked at some driving schools around the atascocita/humble/summerwood area and 300.00, 400.00 and 500.00 just for 2 weeks is murder dont you think??

That's the normal, and I've never heard of a one day driving class.

To save money, I'd suggest doing the parent-teaching packet. You basically teach your son how to drive and fill out this sheet. It's only 2 week, and after 2 weeks you take him to take the test and if he passes he can get his permanent that same day.

I know in Waco it was only 20 dollars, but it might be different in Houston.

Louisiana must have different requirements then, because last I remembered, TX needs 30 or 40 hours of driving time alone.

It's been 12 years, so my numbers are fuzzy...

When I lived in Seattle I took a 1 day class after I failed my first test that was offered by Sears. I think they charged $80 but that was many years ago. The guy basically gave me a test prep and told me all the things the instructor was looking for and some tips for problems I had like parallel parking. Aced the next test so it was certainly worth it.
