We are looking to purchase or build a new Meritage Home and we're interested in getting feedback on Meritage Homes in Summerwood/Fall Creek. Has anyone built a new or bought an inventory from them? How was the process? How was the quality of their base features? How would you compare them to Weekley and Village Builders? Thanks.

If you search the forum for Meritage you will find previous threads about them that may answer some of your questions.

David Weekely: High quality, tiny secondary bedrooms, tiny closets (most cases), nickel and dime you on upgrades

Village: Not as good of quality as Weekley, but upgrades galore, great plans

Meritage: Good price per sq.ft....besides that...blah.

If all things were equal or close on price, I'd choose Village. Just my 2 cents.

Great area, great homes, just be aware that alot of builders are now cutting corners and putting less work and money into homes, may want to look at a inventory home. When i purchased my House it had a lot of brick and features, a friend of mine was looking at a simmilar home and now some of the features were taken out, also using cheaper material, and more wood siding for the same price or more.

I have read through your previous posts - especially the one where you were arguing with a realtor - yeah, come on, I think you do. He accused you and you didn't deny.

My husband and I built a Meritage home in a neighborhood north of Summerwood back in 2005. We had a good experience during the build process (but that generally is denoted by a good building supervisor) and our house was great! We ended up wanting to leave the neighborhood (not the house), so we sold it earlier this summer.

But I think Meritage has some wonderful floorplans. Something for everyone. I love their gamerooms and media rooms, they have good sized second bedrooms, decent sized closet space, good layouts, etc.

Had they been building in the neighborhood that we moved to, I could have easily gone with them again.

I don't deny that I work for a new home builder. I do. But not for Village. Nice try.
