There are probably lots of animal nuts in threads like this too. I'm sure there is a cat lady or two, haha.

Besides what forums do you think we are on?

Just curious, I remember years ago(late 80s), there were quite a few apartments that had NO PETS ALLOWED, but i have yet to see this now. I guess there is some law against this for some time now?

I think I saw some apartments that said that in the 2000's.

Default Get an air horn!

We had a neighbor who taught voice and piano lessons after school. Every afternoon, she would open her back door and "release the hounds". The three dogs barked from 3:15 until about 7:00 pm every evening. I tried everything - including talking to them, sending them a note in the mail, buying one of those electronic silent trainers, and calling the police. The only thing that worked was going to Wal-Mart and buying a $15 air horn. One afternoon, I sat on my deck and every time one of the dogs barked, I blasted the horn - directed towards their "music room". Presto Magicio - the dogs were ushered back into the house. Thankfully these neighbors moved. Everyone rejoiced.

I then made it my purpose in life to call the police every time their dogs barked after 10:00 pm for longer than 15 minutes. My other neighbors did the same. Multiple neighbors called the police to report the same offenders. The police eventually grew tired of having to go to their house. The dog owners began to have other problems (domestic violence) to which I also called the police as well. Every time they got wasted and beat each other up, I called the police. Finally, they put their home up for sale and moved away. I pitty whoever they live next to now. Use the system and make it work for you. Yes, it was consuming but eventually the rotten neighbors that everyone in our neighborhood hated left! We all worked together and made it happen. Good luck to you - get your neighbors to help you.
haha....you must've forgotten that you had posted that already two years ago in 2009.... hahah...still sounds like a good way to get back at the neighbor. sounds like something i would do.

That would be crazy - to have to move due to a dog. It stinks though that Texas is so backwards, and dogs often do seem to have more rights than people (like when a dog kills a child, the dog often only gets quaranteened for a short time, then goes back to the owner - no death penalty, etc).

Since the owner is inconsiderate and doesn't care about your rights, you're best to take matters in you own hands and silence the dog, whatever it takes. Just try to do it is as hidden a manner as possible. If you don't want to go that far, resort to throwing or shooting ice at the dog. The evidence will melt....

I see no reason why I should be subjected to their noise, their playing, their mess, their mess in front of your house, their Moms (who think they are the most important creatures on the planet because they succeeded in giving birth), and all the other assorted issues with them.

Bleah.
I actually think there are lots of child-free neighborhoods... they're called old-folks homes!

LOVE this story!! Why didn't I think of that?!

Thanks!
