My son may be transferred to the Huntington West Virginia airport soon. What are good areas for him and his wife to live. They are in their early 30s with no children. They will need to rent. They are both professional white-collar workers

30's no children, i would look close to town, Ritter Park area. Plenty of places to rent there for young professionals. Check out this site. Ran by a husband and wife, they are very helpful.

I agree with Silkdashocker, the South Side of Huntington is a wonderful place to live. It's convenient to the park, downtown, the hospital and the interstate. It's a very walk-able area that is also bike friendly as well. Downtown is just a short walk or bike ride away too. If they want to be closer to downtown, there are a few newly renovated condos/apartments downtown that they might look into. If they prefer the suburbs, Barboursville is a good place to look as well.

Looks like you took care of it.

The South Side in general is the part of the city south of the railroad tracks and roughly between 16th street and 14th Street West.
