Hi everyone,
I am planning to move to Huntington this July. I plan to live in the area at least for the next 7-8 years. I was wondering, if I buy a house >2000 sq ft., how easy is it to sell it and move on?
Thanks.
As with most places, it'll depend on the quality of the house, the location and ultimately what price range it's in. The house we currently live in would fit you're description and we bought it after being on the market only about a week. Others can sit a while but tend to be overpriced. For most houses in the area, I'd say you'd be fine. If you have questions about a specific house or area, feel free to PM me and I'll give you as much input as I can.
Thanks a lot for your input. I am looking at either Barboursville (possibly better schools?) or near Ritter Park. I would like a newer construction but I guess that will be tough to find near Ritter Park. I will be commuting to MU daily. So am not sure if living further out like Ona or Milton would be good.

If you're commuting to Marshall every day then I would not live near Ona or Milton. Stick to Barboursville at the furthest. I-64 is undergoing extensive upgrades and will be for the next 5-10 years and traffic gets backed up regularly. On top of that, the interstate area around Huntington is known for bad wrecks and there's more traffic on top of that. Living in Barboursville would still allow you access to Route 60 and getting downtown in a reasonable time.
Thanks. I think I will not got beyond Barboursville.
