It opens back up in October. There was just a lease dispute which led to canceling acts and once new ownership was established, it took a few months to get the acts scheduled again.
The person who attempted to own it has said that he would open another club elsewhere in Huntington. There is a new place opening on 4th Ave called Cabanas Restaurant and Comedy Club. I'm not sure if it is him but I'm inclined to think so.
So now Huntington will have 2 comedy clubs, one bigger and one smaller.
The place is currently called Cabanas Island Party or something to that effect. It looks like it is being retooled for the comedy club and restaurant. Here's the contact info for the place that is currently there:
They have a sign in the front window that says "Coming Soon Cabanas Restaurant and Comedy Club!" Drove by the other day and it looked like they were working on it. If I ever see any contact info I'll get it to you.
