What is wrong with these people in Huntsville Alabama. I read a article saying: "Rush hour traffic, hour-long dinner waits and impossible parking prove it: Huntsville is growing." This really gets under my skin when these false claims are made. The people in the city of Huntsville Alabama live a false reality. They are only concerned with being looked as a better city than any of the state other cities. But in reality Huntsville is degressing and other cities of the state are advancing while huntsville tries to persuade people that its is seeing all this growth. It makes think how many of these people have left Huntsville(leave the bubble)and been to a real city. These lies have many people fooled and the huntsville times should be ashamed.

Honestly all you do is try to bad mouth Huntsville and bring up that it's not like "other" cities in this State. You must have really thin skin for this to get under. I don't see how an article discussing the growth of Huntsville can cause so much heartache for you. Perhaps you need to look at your reality. The Census numbers prove Huntsville has grown and is growing. There is no need to "persuade people" that it is growing because the numbers back that up! I have seen the changes in traffic and have noticed the growth! I don't know why you think Huntsville is digressing. I have been to "real" cities (New York, Boston, Atlanta and a few others) and Huntsville doesn't match up to these cities but what city Huntsville's size does? The largest city in Alabama doesn't compare either! Birmingham has a lot to offer but lets be honest. It's not a world class city!

Why don't you say what you really mean by this post. Huntsville in your opinion just isn't " a Southern City." It doesn't have the southern charm of Mobile or Montgomery in your eyes.

Huntsville - Gain of about 22000 people in the last 10 years

Mobile - Loss of about 3500 people in the last 10 years

Montgomery - Gain of about 4000 people in the last 10 years

Birmingham - Loss of about 30000 people in the last 10 years

Huntsville has no idea what real traffic is. Imagine being on the highway and going idle speed or being at a complete stop for most of your commute every single day.

Or knowing that the stoplight you are waiting for will cycle 3 or 4 times before you make it through.......and you got lots more lights after that one.

You seem to have in it for Huntsville, based on the trend of your posts. Did something happen to you to give you an agenda?

The headline of the article is totally bogus.
You dont hear of Mobile, Montgomery, Bham, or Tuscaloosa making riduclus statements like that. Huntsville is the only city in Alabama where they find need to downgrade the other parts of the state to somehow make this city look good. I have never of a city doing this and I have stayed in major cities outside this state. I never heard the newspapers in Jacksonville saying they are better than Orlando for this reason. It's riduclus and thats my problem with Huntsville. I'm a Alabama native and this state has things that make it unique from top to bottom.

I don't understand why you think the article is "downgrading" the rest of the state. I don't see anything in the articles that say Huntsville is so much better than all the other cities in this state. It is merely discussing growth and the changes that have happened in this area over the past 60 years. You clearly have an agenda against Huntsville.

Bless your heart, mimdaddy.
"Huntsville" didn't make that claim - the Huntsville Times did. I don't think the Times is out to "downgrade" other Alabama cities. They're just noting that the city is growing. Gotta write about something and it's pretty slow, news-wise, right now.
Are you still in college? You might want to add a spelling and grammar class.

Default what is the deal with Huntsville

The Times article was simply correct. The population continues to grow as the Army continues to consolidate activities there from other locations. The population has increased steadily since the beginning of WWII and continues today. I haven't checked, but I suspect that the median income is the highest in the State. Additionally, the crime rate is low. It's not an exciting place to live, but it's peaceful. Traffic gets worse as time passes, but it's not nearly as bad as it is in larger Cities--the locals only think its bad. I haven't lived there in some Years, but go there fairly often.
