The steaks were in a freezer box, frozen, vacuum packed, in a box by type of meat, in a case of 6 boxes. I saw him break the seal on the case. I doubt this is any nastier than the same box being unloaded from a tractor trailor into a grocery store. In fact, I doubt the meat you buy from the grocery store is double boxed much less vacuum packed.....just sayin'.

Wow, 22% made up of a solution of water, salt and sodium phosphate? Where's the beef?

Hmm... it says "Packed for the Steakhouse Family of Company's" - maybe I'm being picky, but someone in the company should have caught that one.

Soooo, now that I've had the opportunity to sample all of the different cuts of meat....would I buy them again? NO!!! The ribeye and delmonico cuts were pretty good but not great. The strip cuts were horrible...kinda gamey. With all the hoopla going around about the consumption of horse meat...well, you get the idea. Maybe I should send one of the strip steaks to the meat inspector

Would it bother you if you had eaten horse meat?

Well, not really, but if that's what it was, I didn't like it. Other than the fact that horses are more in the "pet" family of animals, I don't see a problem with it. It is supposed to be a healthier cut of meat. I love venison and have eaten buffalo several times.

Hmm... a new pizza topping - "I'd like a large mushroom and horse to go." Or, around these parts - "I'd like a pulled-horse sandwich."
