Correct, I got ahead of myself...service was scheduled to start 2 weeks from now.

Not a bad looking airplane but the paint job is "different". But so is Southwest's and any number of others.

Is the delay because of aircraft availability? I'm pretty sure I've seen that plane come into the airport, but not with that paint job. They might've sent one up a few times to check out gate connections, taxiways, and the like.

That would be the logical choice.

FAA certification for the new aircraft is supposedly taking longer than expected.
Once everything in order, they should do well if prices stay reasonable.

Pretty sure they'll be using the "Downtown" airport in Mobile (used to be Brookley Field until it was closed) instead of Mobile Regional west of the city. That's something new too ... they haven't had passenger flights from there before.

Yep, we did..... Our flight out cancelled on Thursday evening, and the flight home cancelled Friday morning. It was a pain to say the least trying to get through to customer service. It took about 6 hrs. What we were told is that they have a new fleet of aircraft that were supposed to have been deemed airworthy before now but the FAA has delayed them.

We were refunded and had to rebook through American Airlines. It stinks because we now have to fly to Charlotte first, but total trip including the layover is only 5.5 hrs. It cost us an additional $200, but as is life. Silver needs to get their act together before we would use them again. They didn't do very well at communicating anything to us. We just received the email cancellations with no explanation as to why.
