Neither Huntsville or Decatur changed. Still separate. Huntsville MSA pop (July 2022 est) 514,465

CSA picked up Marshall, DeKalb, and Lincoln County, TN CSA pop (July 2022 est) 879,314

Not specifically, but I suspect in the case of Huntsville and Decatur, the wishes of Morgan County come into play. And there could be some logic there -- Decatur definitely has some ties to Huntsville/Madison County/Limestone County, but Hartselle doesn't really have any commonality.

Another oddity - Jackson County/Scottsboro Micro are part of the Chattanooga CSA. I suspect Scottsboro has stronger ties to Huntsville than it does Chattanooga, and Scottsboro is the largest town in the county.
