I was wondering if anyone can help. We just moved to Madison County (closer to Tennesee). We are originally from New York but have lived in Atlanta for 13 years. While we are not looking for the busy New York life we have found that our new home is way too slow. I was wondering if anyone could suggest areas we can visit that have shopping strips, food eateries (even fast food) that are not 5-10 miles in between.

We have 4 children that we homeschool and also would like to know where to find good family groups or activities in the area.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Where is the job?
Why did you move to a sparse location in the first place with kids?
Rent or buy? Housing budget?

There are plenty of subdivisions in the Huntsville area. That's where you are likely to find more people and (if the subdivisions are fairly new like less than 10 years old) lots of kids.

Use google maps to find shopping centers, schools, banks, etc places where there are people and activity.

Move down closer to Huntsville, there's a lot more to do. Meanwhile, it's only 20 miles from Huntsivlle to Tennessee border. Just drive a bit further.

My in laws live out this way and let's just say they tricked us! While having cable installed we discovered the house has a serious mold issue (it's even in the air ducts) we are looking to move immediately!

Mold is definitely not something you want to breath in. Good luck!
