I will keep in mind that I should not be overly expectant on the downtown area. Thanks again all!
Hampton Inn is good too - free internet. There are four Hampton Inns in the Huntsville area (according to Google Maps - I know of three), I like the one near the Huntsville Airport (it is actually in Madison) a little nicer, quieter than the one on University. "Closer to the Redstone Arsenal" is not that important unless you are walking or cycling. Everything is close to the Redstone Arsenal. There is a brand new one on 431/Caldwell in Big Cove but it really would be unnecessarily distant from Redstone Arsenal.

Another place that is totally full service is Residence Inn.

Avoid Embassy Suites - also no free internet like Hilton and Marriott.

I have never stayed at the Westin, but I love the Bridgestreet area. Also, while the downtown area is not thriving like some other metro areas, The Big Spring Park area is still nice (at least it is when there is not construction all over the place). We stayed at the Embassy Suites several times prior to moving to Huntsville and loved it. I also got the manager to give us free internet every time we stayed.

That's cool.

One thing that is nice about Embassy Suites is free open bar for a couple hours in the evening. Nice if you drink.
