Have a 2015 Santa fe sport turbo. Love it. Never had anybproblems. Had 2012, and 3014 sonatas...both trouble free.
We also have a Santa Fe Sport with the turbo, a 2015 and zero problems so far, but it has only 6500 miles on it. The only complaint is that the power steering assist is excessive for my taste, then again, it is a common occurrence with electric steering.
Our other car is a 2010 Kia Soul plus with a 4-speed automatic and 36000 miles. Zero problems so far. I wish the Santa Fe steering would be as good as the Kia, which has the older, hydraulic assist, much better in any situation.
You were lucky. Most common problem is seized rod bearings, however they have also had issues with spark plugs breaking off and bad coil packs.
Never heard of any problems , we have a 2013 2.4 with AWD and no problems runs great.Only problem we had were the piston on the lift gate ,easy fix and done in under an hour.

Really? You don't know about the recall which affects YOUR vehicle?
Yes ,took it in all taken care of but it never affected me.They have even extended my warranty on it for an additional 25,000 miles.(total of 125,000) we have 51,230 on it .

It's not "taken care of", they just did a sound test and and an oil change and sent you on your way. Many engines are still failing after being "inspected". Most aren't failing until over 60k miles.

Actually no ,my engine is not the one of the ones failing ,but thanks for the concern?

All 2011-2014 Hyundai 'Theta II' engines have a design defect. It usually starts with oil consumption, and ends up with a spun rod bearing. Sometimes it happens as early as 60k miles, and sometimes it waits until after 100k miles.

Your link is not new,it's from April and as I have indicated it has been taken care of.
Sorry to disappoint you but mine is fine most of the problems are with the Sonata's not the Santa Fe Sports,so go start trouble somewhere else.
That link contains 40 pages, the last post being today, so it's current.
All of the engines are built at HMA Alabama, I have been through the facility. Sonata, Santa Fe Sport, Optima, Sorento, and Sportage all use the same engines off of the same assembly line.
