Have any long time SP residents ever seen the NL from the Bonner county area? Anyone have some pics of the event? I just read that 2013 is predicted to be an active year for this.

I have only seen this once, while flying in a Lear @ FL 430 (43,000 ft) over the Great Lakes area. Very impressive.

Will be up in SP next month and looking forward to all the NID wonders.......

On rare occasions you can see it, but not often. I have lived here since 81' and saw them once, on Sept. 6th. I have heard a couple of other times of other people seeing them, but not often. The one I saw was not colored, it was like a rippling wall of white vertically across the sky, pretty neat though. It was an accident I saw it. My dog woke me up at 2 am to go outside to the bathroom and that is when I saw it.

I saw them in 2002. Do you know about SpaceWeather.com -- News and information about meteor showers, solar flares, auroras, and near-Earth asteroids
