Wife is possibly being transfered to Coeur d'Alene.
We have 2 daughters both in music. One (1) in Band/Marching Band and One (1) in orchestra. How are the music programs at either of the 2 High Schools and do either offer a Marching Band Program?

Thanks

Both Coeur d'Alene High School and Lake City High School have music programs with marching band and orchestra, but in my blunt opinion, neither marching band is a fully-developed program. The band and orchestra programs certainly aren't bad, but they're not at the level you see elsewhere, even within Idaho (there are some absolutely amazing high school marching bands in the Treasure Valley). On the other hand, there are some outside-of-school music programs in Coeur d'Alene that are quite good such as the Coeur d'Alene Youth Orchestra.

Of the two, I would say LCHS's marching band is the better program.

I would agree, LCHS is a better program, Mr. Sandford was good at what he does. CDAYO is a great program, but as said, there isnt a huge marching band program up here.

Thank you very much for the information. Both of the girls are involved heavily in the music programs here in St. Louis. While the slower pace sounds good to their mother and I, I'm not sure how well it would be received by them.
Between concerts, events, marching for games, competitions and parades our oldest is the most active ( with band ) The other is in orchestra and most of the above doesn't apply to her.
They both have worked extremely hard since grade school with their chosen instrument. The oldest plays 4 different and has made first chair flute in her freshman year out of 21 flutists in the school. We want to be able to continue to support them in this.
This makes for a tough decision, but they both support the move with hopes of at a least moderate performance ability.

Thank you again
