Hi, we are looking at a move to northern idaho (Coeur d'Alene, Post Falls, Athol area) and are looking for a reformed church. We can't find one on the web. Does anyone know if there is a reformed church in that area, or is anyone else interested in helping us possibly get one started? Thanks.
Sara

Are you from the South? While there are lots of churches in NID, you won't really find anything called 'Reformed' as that term is not often used in the Northwest.

I never heard of a "reformed" church, what is that? I certainly haven't heard of that in the Sandpoint area.

Sarahwallace1, you might email John Wesley, Rawles, the guy who runs Suvivalblog.com, as I know he has talked about reformed churches in Idaho/Montana. He would likely knowof one close to your intended area, if such a church exists.

The OP hopefully can clarify, but I think reformed just refers a certain type of Presbyterian church of which I am sure there are some in North Idaho. They are just not going to have the word Reformed in their name as I really believe that particular designation is unique to other parts of the country and the world. In any case, it certainly is not nearly as mainstream in Idaho as it appears to be elsewhere.

I did some poking around and found one called Trinity Church in Coeur d'Alene that says it is reformed. Google it. It was easy to find.

If you're asking about the "Reformed Church in America" (https://www.rca.org), then no, there are no RCA denomination churches in northern Idaho. Their website shows the closest one is Yakima WA.

I grew up in the reformed tradition and used to live in Idaho. From what I remember and saw there used to be a CRC church in Grangeville. Around Boise there are 2-3 URC churches and there is a big Reformed church in Twin Falls. You might have to find a conservative Presbyterian church.

Good news for anyone who might also be looking for a reformed church in northern Idaho: there is an OPC (orthodox presbyterian church) plant now underway in Coer D 'Alene. Please email me for more details. Sarawallace1@gmail.com
