It's all good fun. But seriously, any further posts need to be on topic...

I don't think the debate gave us any kind of particularly negative reputation. After all, we have never elected an ex-pro wrestler as Governor yet, and there are many crackpots who run for office in states all over the nation.
Look on the bright side; at least Pro Life didn't run this time. Neither Harley D. Brown nor Walt Bayes is close to being as crazy as Pro Life is. (but both come close, for sure.)
True about that, and it's equally true on the occasional "Green Party" candidate-the extremes don't seem to get a lot of traction. I tend to be more libertarian than Republican...but IIRC one of the last Libertarian candidates couldn't even vote for himself-either a felony conviction or warrent out for his arrest. We do end up with all kinds.

Overall-I would say the area is more "anti-government" or at least pro-limited government. That doesn't mean Republican-many big spending Rs are held in as much distain as "tax and spend" liberals. Even at that, the topic doesn't come up that often, unless you chose to talk politics.

Anybody catch the recent Idaho governors debate? All candidates were invited.

Talk about your Idaho stereotypes.
