I bet Boise has the best summer sunsets in Idaho.

.... This is your otherwise pristine sky yesterday evening, obscured with rancher's burning debris smoke 150 miles east of Boise on I84:

....

.... Much, not all of it, from the LaGrande, Halfway & Richland, Oregon area up to 275 miles away, as witnessed firsthand much earlier in the day. Much more from the Treasure Valley & more in Idaho.

.

.... Earth is like a giant goldfish bowl in a way. We're incontrovertibly having an effect on our environment. Tain't just factories & heavy industries.

Default Tower in The Hole

If you've been gone awhile this might be cool to you like it was to me. I had to check out where the decades old huge downtown hole used to be at eighth and main.

Here's the tower in the hole!

They put a historic looking clock outside. It looks just like the historic one on Friendship Square in downtown Moscow, ID.

Since I mentioned it in another thread I'll add more of the downtown Boise construction pictures here. There is so much that is new I didn't stop and take pictures of everything that's completed. Mostly I did the under construction stuff. I counted four cranes in operation.

Main Street Station going up across from the Tower in the Hole

Their coming soon sign

The view of it from Boise on the Grove

Looking at the Simplot JUMP project from BoDo. There are three buildings. (From Left to Right)

Looking back at the Simplot construction and getting into some shots around BoDo (stands for Boise Downtown)

The Aspen Lofts for downtown living

The other side of the Aspen Lofts from inside BoDo. I like the layered look of retail, parking garage and then the Aspen Loft balconies that over look BoDo and beyond.

From the same spot as the above picture looking towards the Simplot Jump project.

Leaving BoDo and looking back from 8th street.

Five Guys across from Urban Outfitters. Aspen Lofts are to the right of it.

More downtown 8th Street area heading north

I've always liked this building but the business changes often

I've talked with others on here about the construction going on downtown since I've been gone, and I went and checked it out and shared the photos. I never really got an idea of the tower in the hole until now. That hole was there for decades and it's kind of a big deal to be built up along with all the other projects that are happening. The Boise Metro has been growing rapidly while it seems the rest of the country has been somewhat stagnant with the recent recession.
