Figures. NM, TX and CA all need to draft similar laws, period. They also are not going to find the number of jobs here in NM that they will in other states, including TX, which has been overrun with them for YEARS.
In fact, all <TIC> 57 <TIC/off> states need to just borrow AZ's law and put it into effect.
What a load. States and Cities are laying off Teachers because of a recession and budget problems. People leaving will balance that load out again for the remaining Teachers who were forced to have 40 kids per Teacher.

Yes they do contribute to the tax base. School taxes are raised through property taxes. Whether a person rents or owns they are living in a property that pays school taxes.

Exactly, it's a net drain. They may have some sales tax but with free school (and meals), ER care and driving on our roads it's a complete net drain.
If we wanted to talk about rent the average renters are 2-4 per apt. What's that for Illegals? A dozen? How that would compare in property tax is beyond me.

Where did you get the $27,000 in benefits? I don't believe that the average illegal or illegal family gets $27,000/year in government benefits - or that they pay $9,000 in taxes when 1/2 of all Americans pay no income tax.
Maybe TX can pass a similar law and reduce the high property taxes to support the illegals in the school systems. I would move there.
