Law-abiding illegal immigrants? Talk about an oxymoron.

Quote:
News Corporation CEO Rupert Murdoch said he supports amnesty for “law abiding” illegal immigrants because as legal residents they can help the nation’s economy by adding to “our tax base.” He also said he supports securing the border to prevent more illegal immigrants from entering the United States.

Uh, wouldn't the same thing happen if Americans were given the jobs that these illegals are doing? In fact it would be a bigger contribution because the employers would have to pay a fair wage and Americans aren't going to be sending their money out of the country.

Except - by definition no illegals are law abiding and certainly committing felony document fraud makes them criminal, tax evasion makes them criminal.

Yeah , none of them "gets it" - so TIRED of hearing how "law abiding" these law breakers are. Like I give a rat's behind what Murdoch thinks/believes anyway - a man who shrugged off his Aussie citizenship in order to pursue a business dream........pfffffffffffft

He owns FoxNews, a billionaire. Australian national that acquired US citizenship only because he needed it in order to legally establish his "news" channel in the usa. NonUsnationals cant own news channels. He was given a express shortcut to citizenship. The guy has too much money. More money than Bush and cheney.

Like I said. He's an American now - you're welcome to him.

What liberals or conservatives don't realize, Murdoch plays both sides. He has the right-wing market covered with Fox News and Fox Business, and he has the liberal market covered with 20th Century Fox, his movie and TV show production subsidiary. FNC and FBN pursue conservative journalism while 20th Century Fox pushes liberal agenda items like subtly inserting global warming messages in The Simpsons, for example.

Not only that, the majority of illegal aliens are poorly educated, and would still hold low end jobs. They would pay very little, if any, taxes. If given citizenship, they're not going to suddenly become educated, and take good paying jobs where they will contribute to the economy. IMO, what amnesty would do is make millions of them eligible for social services. They'd be able to sponsor their families to immigrate here, which would add even more to the social service rolls.

In a very few years we'd be in the same position we're in now. Amnesty would encourage more illegal immigration, and employers, having lost their cheap labor, would welcome them.

Exactly. The pro-illegals never consider these drawbacks to legalizing these illegal aliens (or maybe they don't care). On their low paying jobs they pay little if any income taxes and as you said after obtaining citizenship they can then sponsor their other poor family members to come here and they will in turn take low paying jobs and depend on welfare to subsidize their social needs.

Once the employers have to pay the newly legalized illegals a little more they will be seeking out new illegals to go back to paying slave labor wages. It will never end.
