On Monday, during a gubernatorial debate between current Maryland Democratic Gov. Martin O'Malley and former Republican Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr., the subject of illegal immigration arose and Gov. O’Malley used a term that surprised even this jaded observer.

When referring to the millions of illegal aliens now residing in the United States, O’Malley called them “new Americans.”

What a success story..

"Illegal aliens arrested for burglary, simple assault, and most weapons violations are still not reported to ICE for deportation. Just as with any offender, bail is set for them and they are released back onto the streets to either commit more crimes in the county or to flee elsewhere."

This despicable pandering is the reason I will vote for a Republican for the first time in my life. My 79 y/o mother, a lifelong Democrat, feels the same.

REAL Americans should be outraged.

This administration is allowing criminal terrorist to INVADE our country in record numbers knowing they are killing, raping, stealing from our fellow American citizens and they do nothing.

We need to round up and deport every single invader who is trespassing on our land and vote out the democratic idiots who are aiding the terrorist invaders from Mexico.

People had better wake up before your America is gone because of this administration and this dem controlled congress.

Politicians will stoop to any level when they smell a possible vote. The pandering will never end as long as we the people insist on being lazy voters and party hardliners.

Although I believe the illegal immigration is a huge problem especially for those that commit the most awful crimes. But your rant has to be the most baseless and ignorant yet. To blame this administration for an issue that has been out of hand for YEARS especially during the Bush administration, the fact that you've completely glossed over the FACT that in the history of deportation, this adminstrations has deported more Illegals than any other administration. But don't let that little fact stop such a baseless and ignorant rant.

The sin of this admin isn't in lack of deportations. Its in setting a tone that we will change the system to accept illegals. The talk of providing these criminals a pass for their crimes. No head of line? Well all legal immigrants must wait in line to be granted a visa. Can the same be said of all those illegals Obama seeks to provide an alternate path for? All legal applicants must pass a background check before entering. Can this be said of the illegals?
Minor crimes can and will prevent an applicant from receiving a VISA.
Illegals have already broken a number of laws. Fraud, tax evasion and more and yet our President has deemed it acceptable.
There is no mistake about it. The Obama admin is trying its best to give illegals a free pass.

Your post act as if this is something new. That this is NOT the ONLY administration that looked to provide amnesty to illegals. For the record, there are those who are here illegally or past their visa stay that are working, that are paying taxes, property and business owners and have commited no crimes. So before you go on these "Obama is trying to give a free pass" and make it appear as if this is something new, I recommend you check the archives on Presidents with the help of the house and Senate that allowed this in the first place.

I double dog dare everyone flying into the USA on any day of the week to refuse to show their papers at border/passport control.

How fast will they call them 'NEW AMERICANS'.

I think they'll be called 'ILLEGAL ALIEN' and refused entry.

How about that double standard!
