Am I the only one who is sick of hearing about the “Latino vote” and their threats if illegals are not granted amnesty?

SAN DIEGO - Rep. Lamar Smith's pet cause is immigration enforcement. Now, as the chairman-elect of the House Judiciary Committee attempts to convince fellow Republicans to join his posse, he has also taken an interest in Latino voting patterns.
Yet, instead of making peace, Smith is making up tall tales. In an op-ed for the Washington Post, he made the rosy claim that GOP-Hispanic relations were "very bright" in spite of warnings that "a pro-rule-of-law stand would undercut Hispanic support for Republicans."
As I have said before the Latino vote doesn't mean squat. There are over 300 million people in this country. Latinos only comprise about 40 million of them and many of them are here illegally and can't vote or are too young to vote. Do the math.
So if anyone is pro-laws they won't gain the Latino vote? Wow, what does that say about Latinos then?

All law-abiding Latinos should consider this an insult. I forwarded this to my ex (Latino immigrant), along with the “hate speech/I-word” video, and needless to say, I would get banned if I repeated his response.
All of his articles are pretty much the same. I think he tosses one out there occasionally to try and appear he isn't racist.
Most of his articles will start out with legal and illegal but end up as "Hispanic" by the end of the piece. I've only seen a couple of articles by him that haven't mentioned Latino or Hispanic.

He tries hard to conceal his ethnocentric stance, but fails miserably.

The problem with Smith is that he doesn't approach the immigration issue with honesty,
If Smith wasn't honest, you'd have nothing to b+tch about.
Honesty is what's offensive to illegals and their supporters.

Does a supposedly pro-business Republican really need to be reminded that U.S. jobs don't "rightly belong" to anyone but rather are earned by those who are willing to do them?
Do we really need to be remind you that there are Labor Laws to be followed in order to LEGALLY qualify for a US job?
Or did your 8th grade education not take you that far in life.
Some of the things we hear today, would not have been heard without repercussion 40 years ago.

Look at what the Latino vote meant to a city like Compton. They have taken over the city by the numbers, but all the city council and school board is still African American. For the most part, illegals don't vote (some do). The "Latino vote" is such an overblown canard.
Lamar Smith R-TX 21st con dist is a perfect example of gerrymandering...if lamar had to run in a "normal" district" he would be toast...
Would you mind explaining what constitutes a “normal district?”
