U.S. fast food caught in immigration crosshairs - Yahoo! News (http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20110207/us_nm/us_usa_immigration_fastfood - broken link)

QUOTE:
Alejandro, one of the Chipotle workers fired in Minnesota who asked that his last name not be published for fear of reprisals, worked there for five years and earned $9.42 per hour, taking home $1,200 a month. That allowed him to send up to $800 per month to his daughters to keep studying in Mexico. END QUOTE

Now how on earth does that person live on $400 a month? Yes, that was mostly rhetorical. I have some ideas on how he can manage that. Live 20 to a two-bedroom home, etc.
$400 doesn't come close to paying rent, food, transportation, etc. for an entire month. Something fishy here.

Of this whole issue, all you came up was..."Live 20 to a two-bedroom home, ect.". deep thinking

Alejandro, 37, and co-worker Tanya, a 35-year-old mother of four, admit they are in the United States illegally and had to use false documents to get their jobs at Chipotle.

"I believe that when you go to apply there, they know beforehand that you don't have papers," Tanya said by phone. "And after the six years I worked there, or the 10 years of some of my colleagues, they get rid of us without warning."
The false documents, which include things such as driver's licenses, and residence permits, are easy to come by "on the street," said Tanya. "Many people offer them. It is part of coming here and trying to make a better life for your children."
A better life for your children should not include forgery, violation of employment law and driving with a false driver's license. Alejandro and Tanya need to spent time in jail for their crimes and then go home. Yet another illustration that illegal migration isn't just one crime but many criminal actions. The arrogance of these people and their complete lack of respect for our laws never ceases to repulse me.

Are you accusing Alejandro with the crimes you listed? Where in the story did it say he committed those crimes?

what proof do you have that all illegal aliens commit "many criminal acts" other than illegal migration?

He admits it. How else do you think that someone gets a job if they can't work here legally? Via the Magic Illegal Migrant Job Fairy? And of course illegal migrants commit all sorts of crimes other than their crime of being here without permission.

If you want to work you can't do so if you are here illegally. So you buy forged documents. That's a crime. Then you need transportation to get to work. So you either take the bus or you drive without insurance and licensing because you can't get a legal driver's license. Another crime. Then you may or may not choose to pay taxes so tax evasion which is another crime.

These problems are widely documented. Illegal migrants, by their very nature, are criminals. If you ignore our immigration laws you have no other incentives to obey any other American laws. All laws become optional.

So, do tell, where can we get false documents that aren't illegal to use to obtain work?

From the article:

Quote:
Dependence on illegal labor is the elephant in the room for the U.S. restaurant business. And experts say the Chipotle ICE investigations are a wake-up call for an industry that is one of America's biggest employers and generates over $300 billion in annual sales, according to research firm IBISWorld Inc.
Isn't it time Americans started working again?

It's almost as if they're trying to make you believe that NO Americans ever worked in restaurant service before Illegals came.

I see this as a good thing. America doesn't need so many fast food restaurants anyway, especially with our growing weight problem. We need to reclaim the lost art form of staying home and learning how to cook real food for the family.

Agreed. All the fast food restaurants near me hire American teenagers, which is how it's always been and how it should be. US teenagers need the jobs, not illegals.

If you had read the entire story you would have seen it

So quick to defend illegal aliens you either don't understand what you read or don't bother to read what you don't like.....
