Quote:
That translates into 1,390,146 illegal aliens who successfully entered the U.S. illegally last year.
Quote:
This information is rather contradictory to current Homeland Security Department Secretary Janet Napolitano’s claim, that there are roughly 11 million illegal aliens in the U.S.
Quote:
Napolitano also constantly claims that the number of those crossing the border has dropped dramatically.

So, in one year…we received more than 10 percent of the total, current illegal alien population, in a ‘down’ year?
Quote:
That aside, the fact that 1.4 million illegal aliens entered this country in one year is staggering. The fact that this monumental disclosure (albeit a forced one) received absolutely no press coverage is outrageous
Quote:
If the majority of Americans are ever informed as to the actual number of foreign nationals living and working in this country illegally—they will see unchecked illegal immigration for what it truly is…the surrender of their nation to another.
WTF? I think we may already be defeated.
We can't have immigration laws without these foreigners calling us racist.

BP apprehended 463K aliens in total in FY2010 nationwide. No indication from USC and BP that these were new crossers. The aliens apprehended could have crossed in any year. If these 436K aliens were apprehended at the border while attempting to cross, then what is the total number of aliens apprehended in the US in FY2010?

To infer that all aprehended were crossing the border is incorrect. And to further extrapolate therefore this represents only 1/3 of the FY2010 crossings and the real number is 1.4 million is
mind boggling.

Clearly, you did not read this article either. How do you expect to intelligently discuss threads, if you refuse to take the time to read the articles?

According to the report, U.S. Border Patrol agents took into custody 463,382 individuals who crossed the border illegally in FY2010, including 8,905 smugglers.

I always thought that 11 million # was fictitious.

It's more like 20 million.

I mean seriously... press 1 for English, 2 for Spanish.

Go to the source document - the 463,000 is the number apprehended nationwide - not just those caught at the the border.

http://www.judicialwatch.org/files/d...e-02172011.pdf

EDIT: The gov't response is unclear but Judicial Watch did ask for data "concerning breaches of the US-Mexico border fence" for FY 2009 and FY2010.

Given that the Border Patrol admits for every illegal caught, three escape detection; either way, it’s a pathetic state of affairs.

I read both the article and the USC an BP report. Did You?

Read the information the USC and BP submitted. A news article is no more factual than the information used.

I posted a link.

So answer my question "intelligently", If the article claims the number of aliens apprehended at the border while crossing[Language the article does not use] was 436K for FY2010, What...does the article or the USCBP report report the total number of aliens apprehended nation-wide for FY2010 is?

Since I authored neither study, you would have to pose that question to them. Obviously, there is a contradiction. But, anyone can pull figures out of the air, which is precisely what is being done. As I previously stated, what difference does it make?

463K apprehended nation-wide FY2010 is an amount above the past years averages.

"For every illegal caught, three escape detection" Do you mean to say...For every illegal caught attempting to cross the borders without proper authorization, three escape detection" ? "Attempting to cross the borders" is a very important distinction.

The theory is for every alien apprehended attempting to cross the border without proper authorization, 3 aliens enter the US without proper authorization undetected. The theory is a best guess estimate. There is no positive way any agency[Border Patorl included] can give an accuate account of the "Un-detected".

Words have meaning...so does their omission.
