Marshall Fitz, director of immigration policy at the Center for American Progress, a left-leaning think tank in Washington, D.C., agrees the ICE enforcement isn't working. The only way to fix the problem, he said, is to register undocumented workers so they can work here legally.

"Anything short of that is going to be ineffective," Fitz said.
No, the only effective action is to fire AND deport them. PERIOD.

and from yet another story...........

Quote:
Donatila, a We Count! member from Guatemala who declined to give her last name, has lived in the U.S. for 23 years, raised four American-born children and is now caring for her niece’s four children.

She told The Florida Independent that her niece’s home in Homestead was raided in August 2010 by police and that ICE told her to present herself to Krome North Service Processing Center, where authorities put an ankle monitor on her. Donatila said her niece could not get the necessary legal assistance and was deported to Guatemala.

“This is a great pain,” Donatila said. “This is not justice.”

In similar testimony, another woman said the children of her community will have to deal with the trauma of separation from their parents because of deportation.
Erm yes it is justice for those who knowingly and flagrantly break the law.

I want to puke when I read the words Center for American Progress and undocumented workers in the same paragraph. Millions of LEGAL American's out of work and this putz is worried about the illegals. The SEIU is calling this an attack on the immigrant community. What about an attack on all the out of work AMERICANS???? I would love to be able to pass a law that says anyone here whom is for illegal workers must keep them at their own house and feed clothe them etc.

Im with you Opyelie, and wish there was a way to meet this Marshall Fitz piece of Sh@t in person.

You are certainly not alone. It makes me sick to my stomach. It will be interesting to see how many politicians jump on the amnesty bandwagon now that the Hispanic advocates have made it clear that only politicians who support the “immigrants” will have a chance of winning an election. Soon, we will see their true colors.

Well said. One has to "hope" that the elected politicians do realize the votes they get from the "immigrants" are not the same people working everyday keeping this ecomomy turning.

i myself am hispanic (spanish descent) and i live in new mexico. the majority of the hispanics like my self here are disgusted by the illegal invaders. and to make it worse is these people try to say that all hispanics want amnesty, WHICH WE DONT! Here in NM they think that we should welcome them since we are also hispanic. its a load of crap. our children suffer in school because we have t cater to these anchor babies. and now i have to speak spanish to get a job or communicate at Mcdonalds! i hate when i see activists fighting for the "rights" of these invaders! these people have no rights! we need to deport all illegals or cut off all benefits like welfare, medicaid, foodstamps, housing and jobs to all illegals and hopefully they will self deport. it makes me sick when i see women with 5 kids at the store paying with foodstamps driving a brand new Escalade! DEPORT ALL ILLEGALS!

Mrs. Barreras,

Thank you so much for you honesty and candor. I wish more Hispanics would speak up like this because I see so many Hispanic-Americans losing their jobs to illegals in the last few years and don't understand why they don't speak out more.

Thankfully Gov. Martinez was elected and hopefully because she is Hispanic she can encourage more Hispanics to voice their concerns such as yours. I also live in NM, but am Anglo, and if I try to talk rationally about what we are seeing happening here in education, crime, job loss, etc, because of illegals, I am called a racist.
Thanks for speaking up!

They are speaking out, the problem is that the press ignores them so no one hears them.

I know many Hispanics, and like you, they oppose illegal immigration. Unfortunately, illegal alien profiteers and their puppets are experts at playing the race card, and the sheeple fall for their lies. Thanks for sharing.

How are "anchor babies" not "our" children...You do know "anchor babies" are American citizens? right?

Nice touch...the "welfare mother in the Cadilac buying T-bone steaks at the market" has been a tried and true arguement against welfare since the 70's. Nice incorporating in the illegal immigration issue of today.

PS FYI, there are no longer "foodstamps", food stamps were coupons used to purchase food goods. Most states use EBT cards and combine benefits on a one card.

I know of Health care providers, friends and relatives using the card holder's EBT card to shop for an ill, handicaped, and/or elderly person.

"Seeing" is not "knowing", if you have personal knowledge of any person defrauding the program, there are avenues for you to report fraud.

Seriously bro, what's your vested interest in constantly defending illegal immigrants? Are you one yourself?

You spout more propaganda than Obama, Holder, and Napolitano combined.
