This surprises me if they know who is receiving these funds why isn't more being done to stop it?
What can be expect from a government that refuses to secure our borders, change birthright citizenship, implement e-verify in every workplace, remove benefits from illegal aliens such as education, welfare and non-emergency healthcare?

Read the Treasury report, then look how Dave Gibson doesn't quite get it right. He alludes that it is the EITC (Earned Income Tax Credit) being misused, the same as Edwin Rubenstein falsely states year after year. To get the EITC, everyone in the household has to have a legitimate Social Security number; Illegal aliens cannot claim the credit (the Treasury report directly shows that).
It is the "ACTC" (Additional Child Tax Credit) that the Treasury report focuses on. Illegal aliens are able to lawfully claim this credit if they qualify (based on the number of children and income) as to not pay as much taxes. The "billions" are part of a refund, given back to taxpayers using ITINs to pay their taxes.
When someone reads and understands the claim properly, it become a little bit more clear...

It's easier to twist things and stir the pot up against illegal immigrants.

I think you pretty much covered it. Without those in Government really giving a damn to what is truly going on with immigration. What an understatement, Both sides have failed us miserably, and shame on them.
Shame on all of us for putting up with this crap.

Actually "loyal" Americans don't need to do anything of the sort. The only argument they need is that they are here illegally. The negative impacts are just a part of being here illegally in the first place.
