Assume much? Where in the article did it even remotely indicate that Christian organizations (YMCA/YWCA), or privately funded charitable organizations (Red Cross) are involved? It did, however, mention social service agencies, which, as I previously stated, are generally tax-funded. The only illogical conclusion was made when you decided to assume, rather than read the article. Read it, and then get back with me.
That's some pretty heavy sarcasm, Benicar.
What's a social service agency? Seriously. Because I assumed it was just agencies that do social work, i.e. nonprofits which still seems correct. Which would mean the YMCA etc. are included. This isn't the same thing as, say the SSA.

Unless you are also Kyusslives, my comments were not directed at you. However, I am not aware of any social service agencies that are not either county, state, or federally controlled. Yes, privately-funded agencies are involved in social work, but that is not the same as being a social service agency.

A social service agency provides assistance to the needy, such as food stamps, Medicaid, housing assistance, etc. A social worker generally helps those in crisis, such as the loss of a child, family members dealing with a hospice patient, etc.
I thought I already stated my objection. If these 35 agencies are privately funded, they can spend their money as they choose. But, generally, social service agencies are tax-funded. So, if my tax dollars are being used to help illegal aliens fight deportation, then yes, I do have a problem with this program.
Quote:
"The ICIRR is partnering with 35 social service agencies ... to launch the country’s first 24-hour hotline for families facing the crisis of deportation."
I don't know, I feel we should treat illegals the same way other foreign countries treat their illegals. Heck, even Mexico is building a border fence on their southern border and how about them American who accidentally wondered into Iran? They still locked up, what's that two years now? Nah, I say throw the people out and apply for citizenship like the rest of the people.
