Thats the way it should be. I DO prefer taking care of my American homies, NOT a bunch of illegal aliens.

ILLEGAL aliens ARE cheats. Till things pick up; there needs to be LESS, NOT more immigration an NO illegals allowd to stay here in the USA.

What anti-"immigration" rhetoric? This is about illegal immigration. Yes, they are competing against Americans for jobs particularly in the blue collared group. Many if not most blue collared jobs do consist of manual labor so what is your point?

You arguments are starting to sound a lot like another person in here and one who is no longer posting. Coincidence?

When it comes to labor laws government should be intervening to protect Americans. That doesn't mean that government should have a hand in everything as you are implying is the notion in here.

That's right! Our government should make sure that all workers are legal and that Americans don't have to compete with illegal aliens for jobs in their own country. Please stop using the word "immigrant". The topic of this forum is illegal immigration.

Why on earth in your rational should we allow foreigners to come here even legally to compete with our own workforce especially with millions of Americans out of work right now?

What was that method? Stand in a line for a few hours?

We no longer discriminate against anyone based on their nationality/race or ethnic group. So dragging up the past is irrelevant. We have immigration quotas today because we are no longer a wide open frontier with vast resources and space. We can only allow in so many immigrants per year based on our needs to accomodate them in jobs (where an American can't be found to do that job) our ability to accomodate them with resources and controlling our population growth.

Discrimination can work both ways. Today we take in more immigrants legally and illegally from Latino countries than any other. Why aren't you crying about that discrimination?

As our population grew and our needs changed, polices, quotas and methods changed also. This ain't rocket science.

Yet the same person will acuse anyone with a different set of "math" as a racist and call them all sorts of nasty names. People who see a different solution to this problem have already been called some "nice" names already on this thread.
