The Middle Class is declining...so who is going to buy all the Plasma TVs that John Q. CEO is making with all this cheap labor? The Chinese and the Indians won't be...
I keep hearing the phrase "the middle class is declining" but when you think about it, this doesn't make mathematical sense. If the middle class is in fact declining, that can mean 2 things: the erstwhile members of the middle class have joined the upper class....and that is a GOOD THING. THat is a desirable outcome. That means upward mobility is still possible in the US of A. We should all strive to become members of the upper class someday.

Or the shrinking of the middle class could also mean that its members have now joined the lower class. But what does the statistics show? Are there more poor people today than there were in the past? Not so according to the Census Bureau: the poverty rate has actually decreased to 12.3% in 2006, the lowest level since 2002. And this occurred during the period when illegal immigration supposedly SPIKED in the US. So if the middle class is indeed declining, and the poverty rate has dropped, where did the middle class go?

Businesses may very well outsource US jobs. I can think of no reason why these jobs would necessarily have to go to Mexico. The jobs could be outsourced to China, South Korea, India or any number of other countries. If this happens we then have a)outsourced US jobs and b) continuing illegal immigration from Mexico.
This is your original statement:

Outsourcing jobs to Mexico will prevent Mexicans from crossing the border to the US.
You seem to be suggesting that we send US jobs to Mexico in order to keep citizens of Mexico in their own country. Why is it our responsibility to provide jobs to Mexico? Once again, they need to promote change in their own country. And most illegal immigrants have jobs in Mexico, they come here because they can earn more money.

Businessmen look after their own interests. As radical as it may sound, this policy is actually consistent with classical capitalist economics as enunciated by Adam Smith - an economic philosophy that made the United States rich and powerful.

If you oppose immigration
I am not opposed to reasonable amounts of legal immigration. I am opposed to illegal immigration.

then you should be willing to accept the consequence of your stance: outsourcing. If you find both scenarios unacceptable, then you have to be willing to accept the decline in the competitiveness of American capitalism. We are already seeing this unfold in the auto industry in Detroit, where American workers have priced themselves out of the market by imposing legacy costs that their employers can no longer afford.
I don't have to do anything.

I am pointing out the contradictory views held by many nativists who oppose immigration and outsourcing at the same time. You cannot advocate both positions and still be consistent. Unless you just want to destroy American businesses, the lifeblood of this country.

You missed the point I was making. It is not the responsibility of US businesses to create jobs in Mexico. It is their responsibility to be profitable. Creating jobs in Mexico or elsewhere is the indirect result of the drive towards profitability.

The only thing that will stop or slow down the illegal aliens would be about 200,000 armed troops on the border with armored support.

since the illegals are better than us at organizing and demonstrating their collective interest. cant we do the usual thing and hire them to protest and act for us?
or better yet, if the government insists it can't control 10-30 million illegals, how could government control 10-30 million Americans from acting on their own interests?

Keep the economy in a permanent Recession! Thats the only way to halt illegal immigration. As a matter of fact most of the country already is in a permanent Recession! Michigan, Ohio, Western New York and Pennsylvania. Northern New England etc etc etc.
