Should the USA just stop enforcing immigration laws and use the saved resources to focus on important issues?
Number one- immigration regulations are not enforced...if they were you would not have illegals...America should do both...respect the laws set out - take care of immigrants..that they need - legal or illegal...and utilize the new work force.
Human beings are a natural resource - To late to deport a few million people. Start using the laws you have and be kind to those who have arrived- better to make friends at this point and get back to business.

It isn't too late to have illegal aliens deported either voluntarily or involuntarily. Take care of "immigrants"? Legal immigrants need to take care of themselves or not move here. We should take care of illegal aliens here and make friends with them? Surely you jest. That is just throwing in the towel and saying "come one, come all" as we won't enforce our immigration laws. That would be national suicide.
Utilize the new workforce? You mean those that are stealing jobs that Americans need? Again, surely you jest.
Wow. And the award for the most loaded poll goes to....
Newsflash: Enforcement of immigration SAVES money in the long run.
What "more important problems" are we talking about that would be dealt with the "money saved?" that you now say is "wasted?" Immigration laws exist for a REASON. Perhaps some education will do the OP a world of good.
Unemployment? -- EXACERBATED by illegal immigration
Child poverty? -- EXACERBATED by illegal immigration

Degredation of Communities? -- EXACERBATED by illegal immigration
School overcrowding? -- EXACERBATED by illegal immigration

Sustainable development and growth concerns? -- THWARTED by illegal immigration
Resource allocation? -- THWARTED by illegal immigration
Am I missing anything? The only positive of illegal immigration is a near-slave like worker population in our midst, without worker protections and minimum wage, working cheaply and enriching their employers.
Imagine the consequences if America flung open the border and allowed the world's poor to come over, when they want, how they want, no screening, no application. Then everyone would expect us to feel sorry for wealth imbalances, child poverty, etc. YOU CANNOT HAVE A SECURE SOCIAL SAFETY NET FOR ALL AMERICANS WHILE ABSORBING THE WORLD'S POOR!
My god, the idea in and of itself is naive at best, sheer ignorance and STUPIDITY at worst! Do grown people actually believe such crackpot ideas?

You're right. There is no enforcement of immigration laws which is one of the reasons it's so very easy for millions of people to pack up and come on over.
If they are cut off food stamps, WIC, Medicaid, hounded by creditors to pay their maternity hospital bills, many would leave on their own.
All these millions had no problem packing up and leaving their own countries after all -- much in part because in their own countries, they have to pay their own way, even with their nationalized health care, they have a co-pay, unlike in the USA where they are not expected to pay anything at all.
There is no good reason to legalize them -- even if they don't do a big round up and deport them. Leave them illegal. That way when they do act up, they can be deported.
Stupid poll. It is not a waste of money to enforce our immigration laws. A nation without borders ceases to be nation at all. It should be one of our top priorities.
Exactly a stupid poll with poorly written choices and a LAME attempt at insulting Americans that believe in following the laws of this great nation.
Also the op should be looking at himself for this shameful blatant attempt at trolling.
Illegal immigrants will still be comming here long after everyone on this forum is long dead and gone.
AND ???
They will still be arrested, deported AND be disrespected for their criminality all while crying and whining for citizenship that they will not get. Not to mention being taken advantage off by criminal employers, your point is ???

There will always be some illegal aliens that make it through our border but what loyal Americans want to see is this "flood" of them continuing to come through and for most of those already here to be dealt with according to our laws. Don't you agree?
We can cut off incentives for them to come & they will be less likely to enter this country illegally.
I agree, no medical services, no welfare, no places to live, no places to cash any checks they may have or get. nothing at all. sooner or later they will get the idea that they are not wanted here as criminal illegal aliens.
