Yeah, by counting those stopped at border crossings. That's a tad different than rounding them up inside the US and deporting them.
Refusing entry at the border crossing is NOT deportation. Voluntary returns is not deportation.
Those going back on their own is not deportation.
The Washington Post did a story on that and Obama even admitted the high number was not accurate.
