I actually vote Democrat most of the time, though I don't vote a straight party ticket EVER (voted Obama in '08 but also for Pete Sessions for Congress).
I don't consider myself lawless OR non law-abiding.
There are plenty of left-leaning voters out there who are sympathetic to the anti-illegal position, whether they identify as Democrats or not...attacking them isn't going to do us any favors. This is an issue that crosses party lines, let's please try to bear that in mind.
IMO, it doesn't matter what your political leanings are as Americans we should all be opposed to illegal immigration and the negative impact it has on our society. Not doing so does not show respect for our immigration laws, borders and for our own citizens. Even if one does oppose illegal immigration supporting an amnesty for illegal immigrants indicates the same disrespect.

I agree. We need to start punishing the businesses that hire these workers instead of legal workers. If this happened, the jobs would dry up, and there would be no reason for illegal immigrants in the first place.

Although it is a step in the right direction and should include e-verify there will always be those who will work under the table, give birth on our soil and collect welfare through them. Those two sources of income will still encourage some to come here. Eliminate birthright citizenship along with e-verify and illegal immigration will be greatly reduced.
