They were 2 very young fellows, the guy was 23 years old, his sister 20, the reason they came to Mexico was because after 9/11 they were soooo scared that decided to come here, they told me that coming here legally was too difficult and it could take a long time, they were really scared about things getting ugly I guess, I don't know if they are still here though, they were living in San Luis Potosi one of Mexico's fastest growing cities, they had a windstar with american plates which is illegal here, tourists can get a permit though but theirs had been expired already the girl worked giving English classes at a school there, I was really surprised because their spanish was impressive and they seemed to be really adapted, they really wanted to stay here too or at least that told me, San Luis is a small city where people pretty much knows each other and people really liked them, I lost touch with them tough, I wonder what happened with them seemed to be really nice people,

curiosity killed the cat, but i'm guilty, were they two brothers, or a brother and a sister?

i guess it doesnt really matter, though, because i dont agree with any illegal immigration at all.

after 9-11 alot of people were really scared, but stayed in america, many waving old glory like it was 1976 all over again.
the pride of the american people was tested and , though thousands of americans and legal immigrants wer murdered that day, i think resolve was the biggest thing that followed....resolve to take our country back, resolve to stand up for other countries that were also being terrorised by evil doers(as bush calls 'em) and resolve to protect our borders, and as far as i can see things, i think that resolve is growing.

sad two americans couldnt stand the heat....and i say, if you wanted control of your country, you shouldve reported them to authorities as illegals...
and they shouldve been sent home to face our crisis, and the worlds crisis, along with the rest of us.

good post , though, travelling fella, food for thought.

they were a brother and a sister vivski, young naive and full of ideas and dreams, they didn't believe in violence.

concerning about reporting them, to be honest the thought didn't even crossed my mind I felt their story was legitimate and that they had a right to find a place where they felt safer, I believe only God has the right to judge others and he chooses to never do so that's why I hate illegal immigration and I think it's wrong but I can't hate the illegal immigrant.

maybe if they were kiddie porn collectors, people smugglers or they wanted to cause a harm to my nation I would have done it.

So Mexico can shoot them? Do you remember the caning incident of an American who vandalized cars in Singapore in the 90's? That wasn't even death, just a lance on the behind. I highly doubt America would stand by and allow even illegal american in mexico to be Shot on Sight.

Some of them are...they're paying into the system in the hope that they'll someday be able to collect benefits if they get amnesty, or in order to have tax returns so they can apply for mortgages.

Needless to say he's anti-illegal and anti-amnesty now.

If they're in Mexico, they're subject to Mexico's laws. Mexico has the right to enforce its own laws, as asinine as they may be, just as we have the right to enforce ours, which are still incredibly lenient compared to Mexico's.

Do you honestly think I'd have sympathy for an American illegal alien in Mexico or any other country? Why didn't you just come on out and call me a hypocrite?

I sure remember this---and as I remember, about 85% of all Americans said "Great! Beat the $%^&@ out of the little B*stard,!! I wish I could send our LOCAL punks over there! Go, SINGAPORE"....or something like that. I don't think the "little darling" got much sympathy, as I recall....
