At least five Democrats say they are bringing illegal immigrants to the U.S. Capitol for the State of the Union address on Tuesday evening, despite a rule requiring guests to provide their Social Security numbers....On Tuesday a spokeswoman with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency was mum about the presence of the illegal immigrant attendees.

Unbelievable! I am sure everyone else had to provide their SS#.

For this particular event I am sure you need to have government clearance such as a background check if you are not already cleared.

Clearly "visiting heads of state" may not have an assigned Social Security number, so the declaration that it is a "requirement" (for those that do no have a "Congressional ID") is moot. The noted objection in the citation is for what? Worry that those without a Social Security number can attend to hear the event, or that President Obama or other politicians would be under a threat from such guests?

What proof do you have to show that it was not needed for this State of the Union? Were background checks conducted?

What I find interesting is the Daily Caller states they've obtained a copy of the memo, however, they didn't publish it. It appears they're just cherry-picking it to maximize outrage. Furthermore there's no information on when it was issued or if there were any modifications later released.
