Story: Before border crisis peaked, Texas governor warned Obama administration - The Washington Post

Rick Perry:
“By failing to take immediate action to return these minors to their countries of origin and prevent and discourage others from coming here, the federal government is perpetuating the problem,” Perry wrote to Obama in May 2012. “Inaction encourages other minors to place themselves in extremely dangerous situations. . . .Every day of delay risks more lives. Every child allowed to remain encourages hundreds more to attempt the journey.”

Two years later, Perry’s letter appears prescient. The number of unaccompanied children at the border, which was 5,200 in 2012, has shot up to more than 52,000 this year — and it could reach 90,000 by the end of September, according to internal Border Patrol estimates.

At least Obama wants to do something now...

See - It does not take a rocket scientist to figure this one out Perry was/is right.

2014 is only the beginning. They are expecting 145,000 more in 2015. With the amount of illegals already here in the US, they say it will take years for each illegal to have their day in court to determine if they will be deported. Mean while, they are here on the taxpayer's dime.

From CNN website...

"Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson told the Senate Appropriations Committee that $3.7 billion in emergency funding requested by President Barack Obama anticipated up to 90,000 of the unaccompanied minors this fiscal year, which ends September 30, and another 145,000 in fiscal year 2015."

Goes to show this President Obama has and will always measure a crisis for political gain. Contrary to popular belief the White House new exactly what is going on. They just choose to ignore it until it passes, so they hope!

They've apprehended the children haven't they? I don't understand what the controversy is.

I'm also thinking that this was planned. They had too many warnings that this was going on already. Everyone knows about the January memo from Jeh Johnson that would need more staffing in expectation of massive crossings in the upcoming months. This last Monday, Mexican gov't just met with guatemalan gov't to make it safer for guatemalans to enter Mexico if the Guatemalans intend to have the US as their destination. Imo, it appears to be leverage for the Dems and the RINOs like McCain and Miss Graham to use as a bargaining chip to stimulate Comprehensive Immigration reform once and for all for this country. Obama already messed up our health care system. He's now trying to make CIR an "accomplishment" also.

Not all of them are children. Some are adults pretending to be kids.

Are you serious when you say you don't know what the controversy is?

The controversy is that Obama and company caused it.
