January 31, 2008--While federal lawmakers debate illegal immigration, Iowa Republican lawmakers want action. An estimated 55- to 85,000 illegal immigrants call Iowa home, but instead of turning to the White House for a solution, Iowa leaders are looking at Oklahoma.
[SIZE=2]Iowa Democrats want to fine employers $10,000 for each illegal immigrant they hire. Republicans want to focus on ridding the state of illegal immigrants, so legal residents can find work.
Democrats want to fine employers; I highly doubt those fines would ever get paid. Republicans are focusing on the core of the problem.

Just so you know, those anchor babies, those by marriage, those by amnesty are citizens. Not illegals anymore. Get that through your head. L-E-G-A-L C-I-T-I-Z-E-N-S
I'd rather have California become its own country.
It would go to Mexico before that would happen.
