I agree that is a problem but hiring people for 1/2 -1/3 normal wages is not good for our economy. We need tax payers not tax receivers.
I do not know what the situation is like in North Carolina but here in Massachusetts illegals learn real quick. As matter of fact my uncle a remodeling contractor would always hire illegals from Brazil for painting jobs. Not anymore complaining they've become ridiculously expensive charging a $100 a stroke "kidding" but you get the idea. So the argument that illegals are driving down wages is not accurate statement here in massachusetts that is..For other parts of the country i wouldn't know.

Many American complain about hiring illegals but when it comes to paying for manual labor they look the other way.
One grass cutter wants $75 to cut your lawn
The other guy will do it for $50.
Most people will go for the $50 and not care who is doing the work. Congrats you have just hired an illegal.
Capitalism works this way.

How does Capitalism figure into the equation when their children are being supported by legit tax payers though? It might be Capitalism, but it's a definite perversion of the model.

This is why Trump is doing so well in the polls. Nobody else will touch this subject. You cannot squeeze blood from a stone and the American taxpayer is feeling that squeeze! Our voters are looking in any direction that gives us relief from our current business models.

Yeah I bet he does not want to pay a living wage. I was a carpenter before getting injured in the 90s and the workforce was a blend of many people. Now in the same area it is all done by an illegal workforce who's pay is the same as I was getting paid in the early 90s. Houses are three times as much as they were then, how can anyone survive unless they live with 20 others to share costs..... My friend is also a union carpenter in NYC and he has told me the work is being taken over by this workforce killing union jobs and the work is not up to pare.....
I find it interesting the same people that constantly complain about not making a living wage. Are the same people that If you showed up at their door step to do some work. Would scream and complain that we're too expensive. I guess business owners are not allowed to make a living.

Sick of hearing this. Perhaps today's "youth" don't want to, but I sure as hell know there are people in their 30's, 40's, and beyond who DO, but are completely shut out of the market because they don't find living in illegal apartments with 10 grown men (and their baby mommas and multiple children) very attractive.

I have a friend who owns a very large electrical contracting company who would DISAGREE with your claim.

He has a VERY HARD time people of ANY AGE who are willing to "learn" a trade.

Those American black laborers have H-2B to thank:

"The H-2 guest worker program, which brought in 150,000 legal foreign workers last year, isn’t supposed to deprive any American of a job. But many businesses go to extraordinary lengths to deny jobs to U.S. workers so they can hire foreigners instead. A BuzzFeed News investigation."

"The following season, according to a lawsuit filed by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, about 80 workers, many of them black, were simply told: “All you Americans are fired.”"
....

The House vote that Obama praised two weeks ago as an early "Christmas present" in his weekly address just upped that figure to 400,000 per year.

The left has elected a president who is quite literally, and deliberately, working against the best interests of the American people.

Is this what you THINK, or do you have actual experience?

The seedy side of illegal immigration is that they really don't care about the illegal immigrant workers. You can tell us how much they pay, but if the worker is hurt; he or she is out of the door and on the taxpayer's footsteps. The employers have no fear of law suits, strikes, they don't follow environmental regulations, they don't worry about OSHA. If any one of these workers questions their pay or conditions; they are simply replaced - no questions asked. The employers do not even have to worry about sexual harassment charges - they have the best of all world and, yes, they have the money. But that does not mean that it is right or legal. I just wished that we would lock up these employers for many, many years!
