Do you now or have you ever worked for a company that you KNOW has hired illegals? If so, what industry was it in? In part, this thread HAS been created to see if the old "They're only doing the jobs Americans won't do" line being pushed around is true or not.

I knew of a few companies that hired illegal aliens and, I told ICE.

I worked for a major fast food company that I found, on the way out, had its HR department thoughroly infiltrated by LaRaza members all from the same professional closed group at a nearby college. I also learned about 9 months prior to leaving that one of the adopted long term corporate strategies involved being ready for when Mexico reabsorbed SoCal. Most of the players involved are long gone, including the CEO. But back then there was alot of "clowning around" at corporate "

The specific tactic item from around 2004 read as such: Within 20 years demographic shifts will result in the reabsorption of the SW US back into Mexico, we want to position ourselves to be the fast food restaurant of choice after that occurance.

Most of them do, because most "illegals" apply for work with fake ssn. Was that a documented immigrants in the workforce aren't working under the table.

Never worked in minimum wage/ manual labor sector, so no. Are there businesses around me that hire undocumented laborers, absolutely. For the record, legal American workers would do the jobs, but not being paid $5 or less an hour under the table...and sometimes not being paid at all, by their employers. Which is why so many manual labor companies hire them. Being paid less than minimum wage, no benefits, not knowing at the end of your day if your "boss" is going to pay you at all. No, American workers will not do those jobs.

Americans were already doing all those manual labor jobs for a fair wage) (not minimum wage) before millions of cheap, illegal workers flooded our border. The construction, landscaping, hotel, restaurant, etc. industries have been taken over by them.

I worked in a popular Mexican restaurant in Denver for a couple of years. I was the only non-hispanic working in the kitchen, there was one other person that spoke English and was legal, the rest were illegals from Mexico and Peru. A few of them lived with the owner and were treated like slaves there and at the restaurant. Some of them sent money back to Mexico. Most of them were kind, hard-working, and polite. Now and then someone would mention INS and they would scatter to the wind. We all treated each other with respect. It was an interesting experience being the minority, but I learned a lot of Spanish and some killer recipes.

You could have learned Spanish and some killer recipes from Hispanic Americans or legal immigrants.

Because the big guys hire them, seek them out. We have a lawn guy with is own company, Mexican legal with a legal Social, who is trying to purchase a house. Hubby is a realtor and working with him, not usual price point (very low) that husband works with, but we like him a lot and would love to see him in a house. The industries have not been taken over BY THEM (illegals), the big guys have taken them on, encouraged them to come here and work illegally in order to cut THEIR prices. New construction in our area is a joke. Big wigs, big names in construction, that pick up day laborers at Home Depot, Lowes, and the local Sam's Clubs that were deserted years ago, buildings still up for lease because the real estate company that owns Walmart and Sam's Club properties won't sell, insist on leasing... . Yes, Oldglory, assuming you and I are close in age, people did do manual labor for fair wages back in the day, but that's gone. Why pay a citizen at least minimum wage when you can pay an illegal less, or maybe not pay them at all (because, who are they going to report to?).

If you think undocumented construction workers are making less than minimum wage, you're incredibly misinformed and out of touch.
