Immigration and Customs Enforcement will use a much wider net to arrest undocumented immigrants, doing away with the Obama administration’s priorities that had shielded millions of people living in the U.S. illegally, lawmakers said Friday.

According to Democrats who met with ICE officials Thursday night, the agency said that it will continue to target immigrants with criminal convictions, but that agents will now be free to arrest anyone else they encounter who is in the United States illegally, doing away with Obama administration priorities that shielded millions without criminal records from deportation.

ICE may widen net in undocumented immigrant arrests

Good!

It's good to scare illegal aliens; maybe more of their kind will get the word they ain't wanted in the US in 2017 and will go back home.

“ICE is not going to have to wait for someone to commit a terrible crime or ignore someone that they encounter on the street,” Vaughan said. “They can go back to enforcing the law.”

Oh wow you mean Trump is going to allow them to do their jobs ?
This is the thing I've been saying too . Sanctuary city or sanctuary country policies make it so people are only deported if they commit a terrible crime like murder . Why wait till an illegal kills ?

There will be no widespread roundup of illegals under Trump, I hope you guys don't go crazy when it's proven later than Obama did a better job on this front than him.

How will Obama have done a better job if he didn't fully enforce the laws for political reasons ?
Trump doesn't care about being politically correct he cares about doing what's right for Americans .

"Obama did a better job"

I hope you finally realize that Obama did NOT do a "better job"

He just changed how he counted "deported" to include those that were DENIED entrance at the border crossing as "deported".

Wasn't looking for a widespread roundup just deport them as they make themselves known. Obama implemented DACA and DAPA that gave millions of them a stay of deportation along with work permits. No, not a good job at all.

He might have selectively enforced the laws but he did deport the most people for a president.

And the Trump administration will use that as one of their metrics too.

DAPA wasn't implemented but Trump had promised to cancel DACA on day one and he went from wavering to strongly indicating that he won't cancel the program. Again, you guys will be seriously disappointed. None of those immigration roundup over the last week was out of the ordinary. It's business as usual. One can't be calling for reduced immigration yet brining in immigrants to do jobs that could be easily done by natives (see Mar-a-Lago).

I hope Dems keep repeating this line, true or not. Then as the net catches more Illegals they have nothing to complain about.

We are just trying to do as well as Obama

How do you know this?

Did you ask him, personally?

Did he tell you?

Has he said ANYTHING about continuing to do it?

Or are your just "predicting"?

What is your record of predictions on the last election?
