I like how you loaded it with "They are human too", as if a vote of 'no' means somebody doesn't believe they're human. Well, I didn't fall for it. I believe illegals should be deported from this country, and the U.S. Constitution does not afford them any rights, regardless of what any activist judges may believe. In the deportation we should respect the fundamental human rights of illegal aliens, but that is all. Give them the Terry Anderson travel pack and "put them on the first thing smokin'."

Honestly, that is the only viable reason I could think of that an illegal advocate would throw at me. I think they are human too, but the illegals think we arent treating them like humans for simply enforcing our laws.

Illegal is illegal. Why should my tax dollars go to care for illegals? If a child is born here to an "illegal" they should go back too, as the guidelines should not change from an initial "illegal" stance/activity. If any U.S. citizen commits an "illegal" crime, there's a price to pay. If illegals want to be citizens and be treated "like humans too" then become a citizen the "legal" way.

It depends on what is meant by rights.

I believe they have the right not to be murdered, robbed, raped, and so on. They should be returned to their homelands with some compassion such as the comfortable INS buses that are used (not like the transportation used to send them here). If they must be detained in a holding facility, there should be food and water and decent conditions.

When they arrive back in Mexico, Mexico should try to get them back to their home villages.

Kaaay. Everyone, gather around.

Let's spend millions, even billions, in gathering them all up, putting them on buses, and then shipping them down to mexico. (you know you'd need people, or police officers for that). and perhaps we can borrow CNN's news helicopter and watch 30 million mexicans run back into the country.

Yeah. How logical does that sound?

Keep them here. Provide ways for them to become legal. Slap them with the missed taxes. Possibly even jail time, even. Heavy the fines for employers hiring illegals, off the books. $1500.. That one is a joke. Add three zero's to it and call it a day.

I'd like to see a logistical budgetary accounting of the costs involved in a comprehensive deportation program. This program should be able to handle the deportation of illegal aliens caught at the border, employer raids, profiling or criminals leaving our jails.

Until then you have no idea how much it will cost or whether it is possible to deport 12 million people.

Foreigners in another country are typically afforded the same rights as a resident of that country. I am a visitor in Mexico, and have the full rights of any Mexican citizen. The exception, I guess, is that I could be deported to the US . . . .

[Mod Cut: language] You can't vote, you can't protest, you can't own certain lands, you can't run for political office, etc., etc.

There's LOTS of stuff you CAN'T do in Mexico that Mexican citizens can.
