I bet Alexandria, Arlington, and Fairfax County may be rethinking their marriages to illegal immigrants once they need more $$$$ to school them.

And this is ONLY their beginning. The city of Los Angeles is over 400 million in the red and LA Unified School District is in the toilet. Nobody can tell me it's not partially due to the fact that there are millions here not paying their fair share of taxes.

Arlington is rich: read that their housing prices are stupid money these days-----------they can afford to pay for their illegal immigrant hired help.

That stated: that county needs have all Federal funds allotted to it audited very closely

Looks like the residents of Arlington bought themselves out of this problem: Arlington must be like Westside LA & Santa Monica & Beverly Hills, They hire them but don't have to live next to em. Let me guess how the neighboring areas are doing....

I lived in Arlington (N of Lee Hwy) from 1969-78; then said adios to the '4 season' weather when I headed to California then Arizona.

My family bought a house near Lee Hwy/Glebe Rd in 1969 for about $33K; which was a lot of $$$ for a Cape Cod built in 1937---------according to zillow.com, that same place's estimated worth is over $800K.

$800K would buy me quite a nice home anywhere here in Arizona-------even Sedona.

AzBear you should see Columbia pike, South of Glebe. You sometimes forget you are in Virginia when you are in that area.

snb3.. if you want to know how the surrounding areas of Arlington are doing google Arlandria, PG county, and Springfield Mall. That will answer your question.

The Columbia Pike area was already going downhill 'back in the day'

Arlandria had a so-called 'Hispanic' presence when I was there 30 years ago-----back then, we counted 'em as 'White' in all fairness.

That is truly sad about Springfield Mall------it was a really neat place to hang out in ca. 1975

PG County was pretty sketchy in the 1970's admittedly------lots of lower class White people for the most part it seemed.
