Just because one is against mass migration doesn't make them anti-immigration. Most conservatives and most Americans in general desire "legal" immigration in the numbers that we actually need not mass immigration as that would be just plain foolish and stupid. As for refugees/asylum seekers we must limit those numbers to. We can't be the flophouse and employment agency to the whole world's poor, needy and destitute. That would be committing national suicide and make our own citizens destitute.

One dude that nobody knew about 5 years ago (Stephen Miller) calling for "maybe we need" a pause to legal immigration since illegal immigration is so out of control isn't "anti-legal immigration". In fact, the article you linked he spoke of a "manageable" level that would assimilate and not overwhelm our education system.
From faraway, it sounds like lots of Euros aren't happy about the refugees they've taken in that have decided to try and enforce their cultures on those European countries.

Some are genuine refugees, some are economic migrants (both legal and illegal), some want free goodies and blonde women, and some want to turn Europe into a caliphate.
