I am able to read, KevK . . . nowhere does this article state this law ONLY apples to unlicensed Illegals.

It clearly states the authorities have the right to impound the vehicle of an illegal, which makes perfect sense since they would blatantly ignore a citation anyway. What do they have to lose? In fact, illegals should be arrested right on the spot as well.

However, nowhere does it limit vehicle impounds of unlicensed drivers to illegals exclusively.

Where I live, the laws are very strictly enforced on US citizens but illegals are given a pass. An American caught driving without insurance and a license is slapped with some big fines and if not paid will be arrested, illegals are allowed to keep on going.

It's doubtful that with the case in the article that Americans aren't being ticketed and so on for driving without licenses.

Even if the this law only impounds the vehicles of illegals, that's fine because they simply do not have the rights of citizens, nor are they entitled to demand the same rights of citizens.

The letter of the law on this applies to ANY driver whose license is suspended, revoked, cancelled, restricted who does not have the license in their possession (thereby acknowledging that you KNOW it is suspended). If your license has been suspended etc but you still have your actual license in your possession then the 2500 dollar bond requirement does not apply and if your vehicle gets towed you are only responsible for 100 plus daily storage of 30. It is rather discriminatory cars that are not worth 2500 dollars. What bonding agent would put a 2500 dollar bond on a car worth 500? NO ONE!!!!! This is a legislation that will affect citizens of low income/frugal values FAR more than an illegal immigrant! This amounts to another way to burden the poor and that is another name for mostly affecting minorities!!!!! Anyone with sense in their heads can see this. So for you patriots on this site saying good, we shall see in the long run after your sons and daughters lose their cars! For those saying this is a good law to affect illegal immigrants, we shall see in the long run that it is not effective as illegal immigrants already have accepted this reality as "part of the game". As a citizen of the US we need to pull our collective heads out of the sand and realize that this is not good legislation as it does not add anything new with exception to a 2500 dollar bond on a vehicle. If the illegal gets out of jail on bond then what do they care about the car?

So just because someone is poor they should be allowed to drive without a license, insurance, registration or with outstanding warrants. Is that what you are trying to say?

Would you like to be in a collision with any of the above? If you are so poor you can't afford the above take the bus or ride a bike
