As do most of the hispanics in the border states. They speak a version of garbled TexMex. If you ever hear a truly educated person speak Castillian Spanish, it is very melodic and beautiful, even to the untrained ear.
I have heard from several sources that correct Castillian Spanish tends to be nerve wracking to most Mexican Spanish speakers...........
Because it reminds many Mexicans of the conquistadors.
A Mexican friend of mine admitted that Castillian Spanish got on his nerves----------and, this particular gentleman was of 100% Eastern Euro White Jewish lineage.

So you base your theory on one person? I highly doubt anyone around remembers the conquistadors...Mexican Spanish is simply a geographical dialect...
Quote:
Ebonics is essentially 16th Century White Cockney English.
Which emphasizes my point that it is a geographical dialect...
To avoid offending while in Spain, never refer to the language spoken in Mexico as Spanish!
Truly. The language one speaks is a class marker. Mexico in particular has a real caste system.
