I keep hearing that illegal immigrants won't be able to benefit from a Public Option if it passes but how exactly will they be kept from getting medical care if they are uninsured and get sick or injured? Will hospitals start asking for proof of citizenship and turn them away under this Public Option?

Nothing changes for them. They can still walk into an ER and get care.
I dont know exactly but the federal law requires that we stabilize. That is part of "Human Rights". I dont think we should be paying for extra medical care unless they can afford it or their insurance can afford it. No one says they cant purchase their own medical insurance. In fact, I know many that do pay for medical insurance in case anything happens at work.
What should happen is if the Illegal Aliens receive care, their employer and the government of whatever country they came from i.e. usually Mexico should be billed for the cost of ALL treatment along with any additional fees..
They should also be immediately turned over to ICE at the end of their hospital visit or stay..
I 'am asking more about how will the enforcement be carried out to keep illegals from being treated under this public option. It seems to me that in order to make sure illegals don't benefit in any way from this public option you would first have to remove all of them from the country first and then implement the public option. Then hospitals and doctors would have to run citizenship checks on everyone to make sure they are legal citizens.
I work in the E.R. and they come in with fake names, and social #'s and get seen and treated, there is no way to contact them afterwards as usually the information they give is false

I'am thinking that Obama should have reformed immigration before healthcare then illegal immigrants and healthcare would be less of an issue.
