This is total BS. If they were sincere in their efforts to prevent illegal employment, Obama wouldn’t continue to postpone an E-Verify requirement. This is simply a ploy to garner support for amnesty.

WASHINGTON -- The Obama administration launched investigations of hundreds of businesses around the country Wednesday as part of its strategy to focus immigration enforcement on the employers who hire illegal workers.

The Obama administration has been trying to build its credibility on immigration enforcement to boost the chances of passing an immigration reform bill in Congress. The administration has doubted whether it has enough votes right now to pass immigration reform. But some members of Congress emerged from a meeting with Obama last week saying immigration reform could be done by the end of the year or early next year.

I wonder if any of the detained illegal aliens will be 'caught and released'.

I also wonder if the administration will just selectively target some businesses and not those businesses that employ people who 'do the jobs that Americans won't do' so that he can ride on the coattails of the Bush adminstration policies.

You know they can’t detain them; that would be inhumane. Remember, most of them have children, and we can’t separate them. No, they will send them home wearing an ankle bracelet, or they will be granted temporary permission to continue working pending the outcome of the investigation.

None of the major corporations hiring illegals will be targeted. After all, they are the ones pulling the strings. No, they will target companies that aren’t lining their pockets, and aren’t members of their open borders/pro-illegal clan.

Of course they will have their usual dog and pony show to illustrate how ‘serious’ they are.

"Employers are required to keep the I-9 forms and must check the authenticity of documents provided by the employee"

I wonder BHS will ask for birth certificates?
